Fill In That ZL1 Hood Indention the Way It Should Look

Chevy took the time to mold a unique ZL1 logo indention under the hood of the 2012-2015 Camaro ZL1, then left it empty. These vinyl overlays fix that — precision-cut to fill the molded letters and give them a finished, two-tone look with the "1" in red and your choice of base color for "ZL." Installed correctly, the vinyl follows the angled wall of the indention and gives the lettering a subtle 3D depth that catches the eye every time the hood goes up.

Ships with two complete sets so you have a backup. Choose from 14 color options including gloss and matte blacks, chrome, carbon fiber, and colors. Made in the USA.

Color Note

Your color selection applies to the ZL portion. The 1 is always overlaid in red — this is the standard look for this product. For custom color requests on the "1", message us before ordering.

Installation

Wet install recommended for easy alignment in the molded indention.

  1. Clean the indention thoroughly — remove any dust, wax, or residue
  2. Mist the indention and the adhesive side of the vinyl with soapy water (1 drop dish soap per cup of water)
  3. Slide the vinyl into position — align each letter to the top-left corner of its indention, then let the vinyl lay over the angled right wall for a 3D effect
  4. Once aligned, push out the water and air bubbles from center to edges with your fingers
  5. Use a hair dryer or heat gun on low to dry and increase adhesion

FAQ

Can I get a different color for the "1"?
The standard product ships with a red "1" overlay. For custom color requests, message us before ordering and we'll do our best to accommodate.

How many sets are included?
Two complete sets — one to install and one backup in case of a mistake or future replacement.

Does the vinyl follow the contour of the molded indention?
Yes — align the letters to the top-left corner of each indention and let the vinyl lay naturally over the angled right wall. This creates the 3D depth effect that makes the logo pop.

Will this work on the 2016+ Camaro ZL1?
This is cut specifically for the 2012-2015 ZL1 hood indention. The 6th Gen ZL1 (2016+) has a different engine cover design — this may not fit correctly.

Should I test-fit this hood before painting it?

Yes — always test-fit before paint or wrap to confirm latch alignment, panel gaps, and hinge fitment. If something's off, we'll work with you on a replacement or exchange. Once it's painted, we can't process fitment claims.

Will my factory latch and hinges work?

The hood is designed for the OEM mounting points listed in the spec. Most installs use existing latches and hinges. Lightweight aftermarket hoods may need hood pins or upgraded struts — check the spec sheet.

How does this hood compare to OEM weight?

Carbon fiber hoods typically run 15-25 lbs lighter than OEM. The weight savings improves front-end responsiveness — one of the main reasons builders go aftermarket. The exact material is in the spec sheet.

Will it require bracing or reinforcement?

What if the part arrives damaged or is the wrong item?

We handle it. You don't fight with freight companies or file claims. Text us photos within 48 hours of delivery. If it's damaged or wrong, we ship a replacement immediately. Can I install this myself or do I need a shop?

Depends on the part. Emblems, front lips, some spoilers, bolt-on, DIY-friendly, you can do it in your driveway with basic tools. Full bumpers, hoods, wide-body kits, possible for experienced DIYers but most people take them to a shop for paint and install. Check the product description for installation difficulty. What's your return policy if it doesn't fit or I don't like it?

30 days, unused parts in original packaging. You pay return shipping unless we sent the wrong part or it arrived defective. Do you offer financing?

What does your warranty cover?

1 year against manufacturing defects: cracking, warping, paint peeling, hardware failure, fitment issues caused by the part being made wrong. Does NOT cover installation damage (you cracked it bolting it on), road damage (curb rash, rock chips), or normal wear. If it breaks because we made it wrong, we replace it free. If it breaks because you hit a parking block, that's on you. We're fair about it. Send photos and we'll tell you honestly if it's covered.

How much does shipping cost and when will I see the total?

Depending on where you're located, small parts can ship free. Large parts like bumpers, hoods, and body kits require freight shipping. Uou'll see the exact cost at checkout before you pay. Freight usually runs $150-$300 depending on size and your location. We know it's expensive. We negotiate the best rates we can. If you're ordering multiple large parts, text us. We can sometimes combine shipping and save you money. We're not hiding fees in the final step. What you see at checkout is what you pay.

How long will it take to receive my order?

It depends on where you are. Orders processed here will take 5-7 business days to arrive. Overseas deliveries can take anywhere from 7-16 days. Delivery details will be provided in your confirmation email.

Unfortunately was damaged in transit. I was so excited I discarded the box and stuff without a thought and only took pictures of the damaged parts as I unboxed it. Seller needs pictures of the shipping label and box as well for any claims/partial refunds. The UPS guy that dropped it off didn't require me to sign for it like it said, just left it at my door. FYI for anyone buying something like this take pictures of EVERYTHING. I installed the trunk anyways cause I already had my trunk off. Decent fitment, no issues closing or opening the trunk but the trunk noticeably sits a little higher than the rear fenders.

This sticker sucks! Nice looking until you try to install it. Other stickers I have purchased come with a cover OVER the sticker. Peel the sticker and cover off the backing. Position the sticker over the object and press on. Usually includes a tool to make sure the sticker is firmly installed. Peel off the cover and done. No wrinkles. Not so with your product. No cover. No way to remove the backing while installing. A wrinkled mess.

This isn’t on K2, but the lenses came In which I was thrilled about. I’d already removed my OEM lenses from their housings. The passenger side lense fit well and mostly flush. The driver side, however, looks like it was slightly warped and caused poor fitment and what looks like a small dip in the red portion of the lense. I had no choice but to use them, as my OEM lenses were no longer usable. It can be very difficult to get replacement lenses in a timely manner for a Del Sol. I drive my car everyday, so I had to just go with it. Again, not a K2 issue but presumably the manufacturer.

The box was a little crushed, but the line was packed well and it wasn't a problem. The instructions are 3 pages of color pictures and lots of explanations. Very nice. The line itself is a very nice bit of kit with a swivel AN line end that allows a No-tension install. No leaks so far and it looks great. It came with new banjo bolts and copper crush washers. The only criticism I have is that I would have liked this hose coated in black so it disappears like the original, but it does look good, so I don't mind.
