One of the original parts first manufactured by M7 Speed back in 2002 is now even better. We have taken this tested and proven design and improved on it. The Gen 1 MINI SRP Kit (Strut Reinforcement Plate Kit) now includes six custom made self aligning acorn nuts for full thread engagement and extra holding power.‚ The M7 SRP Kit will protect your strut towers against mushrooming caused by destructive potholes, unmaintained roads and aggressive curb jumping.‚

Extremely durable, the 1/2" (13mm) thick plates come in sets of two (left and right) and are made from CNC machined aircraft grade 6061-T6 aluminum that is beautifully black anodized to prevent corrosion and and some underhood beauty. Our plates cover the‚ ENTIRE‚ surface of the strut tower top (not just where the upper strut mount meets the tower) to evenly distribute suspension loads over the largest possible area available.

Through the years Gen 1 MINI owners have had one common complaint: the strut towers mushroom after heavy suspension impacts or after the addition of low aspect ratio tires or coil over kits. The MINI's shock towers deform and bend as much as 1/2" [13mm] upwards, throwing the suspension out of alignment and making it difficult to realign.‚ The problem will most likely show up as a slight pull either left or right when driving depending on which strut tower is buckled. The M7 Strut Reinforcement Plates (SRPs) solve this problem by sandwiching the sheet metal between the strut top plate and an extra thick SRP, creating an extra strong composite top surface that will not bend.

If mushrooming is your problem or concern, then the M7 Strut Reinforcement Plates offer the solid solution. Adding the M7 SRPs to your MINI is an inexpensive preventative measure to what could be an expensive fix if you let a repair shop or body shop attempt it.. Thousands of sets have been sold over the years.

Installation is an easy 10 minute DIY project. The installation kit includes simple instructions that also address fixing existing mushrooming.‚

FAQs

Will I need an alignment after installing?

Yes. Any suspension change requires a professional alignment to ensure proper handling and even tire wear. Most shops include this as part of standard suspension work.

How will this affect ride quality?

Depends on the part. Lowering springs on stock shocks give a firmer ride. Coilovers are adjustable — soft for daily, firm for track. Air suspension lets you change height and feel on the fly. The spec sheet describes ride character for this product.

Is this product adjustable?

Coilovers and air suspension are adjustable for both height and damping. Lowering springs are fixed-height. The adjustability range for this product is in the spec sheet.

Can I install this myself?

Doable for builders with spring compressors and basic mechanical experience, but most go to a shop — faster, safer, and alignment gets done in the same visit. If you've never done suspension, a shop is the safer call.

What if the part arrives damaged or is the wrong item?

Can I install this myself or do I need a shop?

Depends on the part. Emblems, front lips, some spoilers, bolt-on, DIY-friendly, you can do it in your driveway with basic tools. Full bumpers, hoods, wide-body kits, possible for experienced DIYers but most people take them to a shop for paint and install. Check the product description for installation difficulty. If you're unsure, text us. We'll be honest about whether you can handle it or if you should take it to a pro. We'd rather you know upfront than get frustrated halfway through.

What's your return policy if it doesn't fit or I don't like it?

30 days, unused parts in original packaging. You pay return shipping unless we sent the wrong part or it arrived defective. Once you install it, modify it, paint it, or mount it, we can't take it back. That's why we push so hard on verifying fitment BEFORE you order. We don't want you stuck with something you can't use. Text us before ordering if you're unsure. We'll confirm fitment so you never have to worry about returns.

Do you offer financing?

What does your warranty cover?

1 year against manufacturing defects: cracking, warping, paint peeling, hardware failure, fitment issues caused by the part being made wrong. Does NOT cover installation damage (you cracked it bolting it on), road damage (curb rash, rock chips), or normal wear. If it breaks because we made it wrong, we replace it free. If it breaks because you hit a parking block, that's on you. We're fair about it. Send photos and we'll tell you honestly if it's covered.

Freight usually runs $150-$300 depending on size and your location. We know it's expensive. We negotiate the best rates we can. If you're ordering multiple large parts, text us. We can sometimes combine shipping and save you money. We're not hiding fees in the final step. What you see at checkout is what you pay.

How long will it take to receive my order?

It depends on where you are. Orders processed here will take 5-7 business days to arrive. Overseas deliveries can take anywhere from 7-16 days. Delivery details will be provided in your confirmation email.

This isn’t on K2, but the lenses came In which I was thrilled about. I’d already removed my OEM lenses from their housings. The passenger side lense fit well and mostly flush. The driver side, however, looks like it was slightly warped and caused poor fitment and what looks like a small dip in the red portion of the lense. I had no choice but to use them, as my OEM lenses were no longer usable. It can be very difficult to get replacement lenses in a timely manner for a Del Sol. I drive my car everyday, so I had to just go with it. Again, not a K2 issue but presumably the manufacturer.

The box was a little crushed, but the line was packed well and it wasn't a problem. The instructions are 3 pages of color pictures and lots of explanations. Very nice. The line itself is a very nice bit of kit with a swivel AN line end that allows a No-tension install. No leaks so far and it looks great. It came with new banjo bolts and copper crush washers. The only criticism I have is that I would have liked this hose coated in black so it disappears like the original, but it does look good, so I don't mind.
