Version 1L Tail Light Overlays — 2021+ Ford Bronco (LED Taillights)

The Version 1L covers the turn signal portion of the LED tail lights on the 2021+ Ford Bronco, giving the tails a smoked, tinted, or patterned appearance with or without the lights on. This was a user-submitted design that quickly became one of our most popular Bronco overlays — we think it was done right the first time. Sold as a left/right pair, precision cut for the Bronco's LED tail light configuration.

Important: These overlays are designed for the LED taillights only. They are not compatible with the halogen tail light version. Check your Bronco's tail light type before ordering.

  1. Dark Smoke — standard dark smoke tint. Clean, classic smoked look. Made in Germany.
  2. Dark Smoke LX+ — premium dark smoke with air-egress channels (helps eliminate bubbles during install). Made in the USA.
  3. Light Smoke — lighter tint for a subtle tone-down without going full dark. Made in Germany.
  4. Light Smoke LX+ — premium light smoke with air-egress channels. Made in the USA.
  5. Dark Smoke Stealth — premium dark smoke in a matte finish with air-egress channels. Eliminates the gloss look entirely. Made in the USA.
  6. Light Smoke Stealth — premium light smoke in a matte finish with air-egress channels. Made in the USA.
  7. Dark Smoke Honeycomb — dark smoke with a honeycomb pattern visible when the lights are on. Air-egress channels. Made in the USA.
  8. Dark Smoke Carbon Fiber — dark smoke with carbon fiber texture visible when lit. Air-egress channels. Made in the USA.
  9. Dark Smoke Galaxy — dark smoke loaded with metallic flake that catches light when illuminated. Appears similar to standard dark smoke when backlit from behind. Air-egress channels. Made in the USA.

LX+ and air-egress channel materials have micro-channels cut into the adhesive side that allow air to escape during installation — significantly easier to apply without bubbles, especially on the first attempt.

Installation

Orientation tip: You can tell driver from passenger side by the angled design on the bottom of each overlay.

What you'll need:

  • Wax-free detailer spray or glass cleaner + microfiber towel
  • StickerFab Application Fluid (recommended) or soapy water (a few drops of dish soap in 1-2 cups of water)
  • Felt-lined squeegee (optional but helpful)
  • Heat gun or hair dryer (optional)

Clean the tail light surface thoroughly — no wax-based products. Wet install is recommended: spray the adhesive side of the vinyl with application fluid or soapy water, position the overlay on the tail light, slide into alignment, then squeegee from center outward to push out the fluid. Allow to dry fully before driving.

Fits: 2021+ Ford Bronco — LED taillights only (all trims with factory LED tails). Does not fit halogen taillights.

FAQ

How do I know if my Bronco has LED or halogen taillights?
LED taillights have a distinct segmented LED light bar design. Halogen tails have a conventional round/oval bulb visible through the lens. If you're unsure, check your Bronco's window sticker or compare to product photos.

Will the overlay affect brake light brightness?
Dark Smoke will reduce apparent brightness somewhat — this is expected and common with any smoked tail light treatment. Light Smoke has minimal impact. These overlays comply with general use; always ensure your lights remain visible to other drivers.

What's the difference between Dark Smoke and Dark Smoke Stealth?
Dark Smoke has a gloss finish; Dark Smoke Stealth has a matte finish. If you're running a flat or satin exterior, Stealth blends in better. Both are the same level of tint darkness.

Do the patterned options (Honeycomb, Carbon Fiber, Galaxy) look good when the lights are off?
When the lights are off, all three appear as a standard dark smoke tint — the pattern becomes visible when the LEDs illuminate from behind. Galaxy is the exception; it retains a subtle metallic sheen even when unlit.

Are these easy to remove?
Yes — apply mild heat and peel slowly. No adhesive residue remains on clean, properly prepared surfaces.

Are these plug-and-play?

Most of our tail lights connect to your factory wiring without modification. The exact install type is in the spec sheet — if anything beyond direct plug-in is needed, we say so upfront.

Will I get a dashboard error after installing?

Some CAN-bus vehicles (commonly BMW, Audi, certain Euro models) may show a "tail light malfunction" error when LED tail lights replace OEM bulbs. The fix is usually a load resistor or quick coding step — we'll walk you through it if it happens.

Are these street-legal?

Most of our tail lights are designed for street use and meet standard automotive lighting requirements. A small number are sold for off-road or show use only — and when that's the case, we say so clearly.

What if a tail light stops working after install?

Most tail lights are covered by manufacturer warranty for at least 12 months against LED failure and wiring defects. Email support@k2-industries.com with your order number and photos — we handle the warranty claim and get you a replacement.

What if the part arrives damaged or is the wrong item?

We handle it. You don't fight with freight companies or file claims. Text us photos within 48 hours of delivery. If it's damaged or wrong, we ship a replacement immediately. Can I install this myself or do I need a shop?

Depends on the part. Emblems, front lips, some spoilers, bolt-on, DIY-friendly, you can do it in your driveway with basic tools. Full bumpers, hoods, wide-body kits, possible for experienced DIYers but most people take them to a shop for paint and install. Check the product description for installation difficulty. If you're unsure, text us. We'll be honest about whether you can handle it or if you should take it to a pro. We'd rather you know upfront than get frustrated halfway through.

What's your return policy if it doesn't fit or I don't like it?

30 days, unused parts in original packaging. You pay return shipping unless we sent the wrong part or it arrived defective. Once you install it, modify it, paint it, or mount it, we can't take it back. That's why we push so hard on verifying fitment BEFORE you order. We don't want you stuck with something you can't use. Do you offer financing?

What does your warranty cover?

1 year against manufacturing defects: cracking, warping, paint peeling, hardware failure, fitment issues caused by the part being made wrong. Does NOT cover installation damage (you cracked it bolting it on), road damage (curb rash, rock chips), or normal wear. If it breaks because we made it wrong, we replace it free. If it breaks because you hit a parking block, that's on you. We're fair about it. Send photos and we'll tell you honestly if it's covered.

Yes, we ship all over the world. Shipping costs will apply, and will be added at checkout. We run discounts and promotions all year, so stay tuned for exclusive deals.

How much does shipping cost and when will I see the total?

Depending on where you're located, small parts can ship free. Large parts like bumpers, hoods, and body kits require freight shipping. Uou'll see the exact cost at checkout before you pay. Freight usually runs $150-$300 depending on size and your location. We know it's expensive. We negotiate the best rates we can. If you're ordering multiple large parts, text us. We can sometimes combine shipping and save you money. We're not hiding fees in the final step. What you see at checkout is what you pay.

How long will it take to receive my order?

It depends on where you are. Orders processed here will take 5-7 business days to arrive. Overseas deliveries can take anywhere from 7-16 days. Delivery details will be provided in your confirmation email.
