Will this interfere with my trunk seal or weather stripping?

Since this spoiler uses factory bolt holes, it sits in the same plane as your trunk edge. Check your vehicle's OEM trunk seal before installation to confirm clearance at the mounting points. If your seal extends beyond factory geometry, minor trimming may be needed.

Can I install this myself with basic hand tools?

Yes. The spoiler bolts to existing factory locations on your trunk. You'll need standard wrenches or sockets and a helper to position the piece while fastening. Refer to your vehicle's service manual for fastener torque values to avoid overtightening.

What finish should I apply to the surface?

Sand the surface with appropriate grit to promote adhesion, then apply your choice of automotive paint or clear coat. Duraflex is the go-to choice for builders doing a proper custom build using flexible fiberglass engineered to be shaped, fitted, and finished by a body shop. This is how serious aero work gets done.

The build process:

  • Sand and smooth the surface before fitting, which is standard for fiberglass aero
  • Test fit before you paint. Pros always do this, it's part of the process
  • Minor waves, pinholes, or uneven edges are normal and part of what your body shop will address during prep
  • Prime, paint, and finish to your exact spec and color

FAQs

Will this fit the factory trunk?

It's made for the vehicle fitment listed on this page. Confirm your model and trunk style before ordering, especially if your car has an aftermarket trunk or existing spoiler holes.

Will I need to drill into my trunk?

Some spoilers use 3M tape mounting (no drilling), others require bolt-through installation. The spec sheet tells you which. Once holes are drilled, they can't be undone.

Does it ship painted or unpainted?

Most ship unpainted and require paint to match your vehicle. A small number are available pre-painted in factory colors — the spec sheet tells you which.

Will a rear wing affect my backup camera or sensors?

Most wings sit above the trunk and don't interfere with backup cameras or parking sensors. Tall wings on hatchbacks may affect rear visibility — check the install photos to see how it sits relative to your rear glass.

This isn’t on K2, but the lenses came In which I was thrilled about. I’d already removed my OEM lenses from their housings. The passenger side lense fit well and mostly flush. The driver side, however, looks like it was slightly warped and caused poor fitment and what looks like a small dip in the red portion of the lense. I had no choice but to use them, as my OEM lenses were no longer usable. It can be very difficult to get replacement lenses in a timely manner for a Del Sol. I drive my car everyday, so I had to just go with it. Again, not a K2 issue but presumably the manufacturer.

The box was a little crushed, but the line was packed well and it wasn't a problem. The instructions are 3 pages of color pictures and lots of explanations. Very nice. The line itself is a very nice bit of kit with a swivel AN line end that allows a No-tension install. No leaks so far and it looks great. It came with new banjo bolts and copper crush washers. The only criticism I have is that I would have liked this hose coated in black so it disappears like the original, but it does look good, so I don't mind.

Do I need a body shop to install this?

Yes. Duraflex parts are engineered for professional prep, prime, and paint. They're built for builders doing a proper custom finish. Your body shop has almost certainly worked with Duraflex before, it's the most widely used fiberglass aero brand in the aftermarket.

What does the prep and install process look like?

Your shop will sand, test-fit, smooth any minor imperfections, prime, and paint to your exact color spec. Minor waves or uneven edges on raw fiberglass are completely normal and are addressed during prep, this is standard for any custom aero build.

How close will the panel gaps be?

Duraflex parts are designed to fit within acceptable custom aero tolerances. Because they're flexible fiberglass rather than OEM plastic, minor adjustments during fitting are normal and expected. Your body shop will dial in the gaps during the test-fit stage before paint.
