eXpert A Pillar Paint Protection Film (Clear PPF)

A Pillar PPF is something that has been requested for a little while.  Pre-cut templates allow for easier installations.  Whether you use your 4Rufnner for long range commutes or in and around town, a little additional protection can go a long way.  

Please watch our video for tips.  Working with PPF is a little bit different than vinyl.

Material

Clear Oracal ORAGUARD 270G stone protection offers a transparent solution to paint protection.  It is 6 mil in thickness.

NOTE:  2 sets are sold at a reduced price.  Keep it as a backup or in case your first install proves to be difficult.

INSTALLATION

We recommend doing this after a fresh car wash.  Re-clean the application area to prepare it for installation.  Just use a wax free detailing spray if your vehicle is not too dirty.  Do not forget to clean the edges of the A pillar.  Also wash your hands.  You do not want to get dirt stuck to the adhesive side of the PPF.

Watch our video for some tips.  The Bronco installation is similar yet much more difficult due to the corners being more curved than the 4Runner.

NOTES:  We recommend that the installation area be free of wax and not under direct sunlight. 



You will want to do this in 70-80 degree weather ideally.  Stay in the shade. 

Apply application fluid to the target install and nearby surrounding area.  Also apply it to the back of the PPF as it is removed from the backing paper.  Apply it to your fingers for bonus points.

With a liberal amount of application fluid on the target area and PPF, you can change the alignment of the PPF by gently pulling up on portions and setting it back down.

Once you alignment is ideal, you can start to squeegee out the liquid.  Our video has key tips on this such as aligning the inside edge and starting at the bottom.

Try to get out all bubbles without damaging the PPF.  Take your time and learn how the material reacts to pressure.  Should you push down hard on our felt tip squeegees, they can leave some glue residue.  Any adhesive remover or Goo Gone should be able to remove that.

This isn’t on K2, but the lenses came In which I was thrilled about. I’d already removed my OEM lenses from their housings. The passenger side lense fit well and mostly flush. The driver side, however, looks like it was slightly warped and caused poor fitment and what looks like a small dip in the red portion of the lense. I had no choice but to use them, as my OEM lenses were no longer usable. It can be very difficult to get replacement lenses in a timely manner for a Del Sol. I drive my car everyday, so I had to just go with it. Again, not a K2 issue but presumably the manufacturer.

The box was a little crushed, but the line was packed well and it wasn't a problem. The instructions are 3 pages of color pictures and lots of explanations. Very nice. The line itself is a very nice bit of kit with a swivel AN line end that allows a No-tension install. No leaks so far and it looks great. It came with new banjo bolts and copper crush washers. The only criticism I have is that I would have liked this hose coated in black so it disappears like the original, but it does look good, so I don't mind.

What if the part arrives damaged or is the wrong item?

How long will it take to receive my order?
