Why E36 Builders Trust Autohandler Aero

Some brands try to be everything to everyone. Autohandler Aero is not one of them.

Based out of Portland, Oregon, Autohandler makes aero parts for one chassis and one chassis only: the BMW E36. Coupe, sedan, convertible, touring, compact. That's the whole catalog. They're not trying to cover every BMW generation or chase the next trend. They picked their lane, mastered it, and stayed there.

And honestly? That's what makes them worth paying attention to.

The brand was founded by Evan Brown, a drifter whose path to cars was anything but traditional. Before he ever touched a steering wheel competitively, Evan spent years living a completely different life, hitchhiking and hopping freight trains across the country, working odd jobs, and eventually landing in New York City as a bicycle courier. A serious accident in 2011 changed everything. After a long recovery, he needed something new to pour his energy into. Something exciting. Something that matched the intensity of the life he had lived before.

He found drifting in 2013 and never looked back.

Evan built cars on other platforms for years, including an FC RX7 that got featured multiple times on StanceWorks. But it was the E36 that eventually won him over. Not because it was the most powerful or the most hyped. Because it was fun. He tells the story of blowing up an engine at a track in Alabama and borrowing a friend's stock E36 325i drift car. He ran lap after lap and realized he was having 95% of the fun he had in a 500hp car with a tenth of the headaches. That moment changed everything.

He sold his E46 build shortly after and went all in on the E36 platform.

That decision led to Autohandler. What started as a creative studio and content hub turned into a full blown aero manufacturing operation. Evan's own E36 became the testbed, running custom widebody panels, vented fenders, and bumper covers that he designed alongside his team. The look was unmistakable. Functional, aggressive, and undeniably fun to look at.

His philosophy is simple: drift cars should look as fun as they are to drive.

That idea is baked into everything Autohandler produces. Their aero is not just about adding width or looking tough at a car meet. It is about building parts that work on track and still turn heads in a parking lot. Form meets function. Style meets purpose.

Today, the brand is run day to day by Erika. She is the one packing every single order that goes out the door, answering customer questions, and keeping the whole operation moving forward. It is a small team doing things the right way. No outsourced fulfillment centers. No mass production overseas. Just a tight operation that cares about what they ship.

Their product lineup reflects that focus. The signature piece is the 50mm vented overfender kit, available for coupe, sedan, and convertible. The design is inspired by the legendary TOM's Motorsport vented fenders from the 90s, updated with a modern shape that fits the E36 body lines perfectly. These fenders require zero trimming out of the box and come finished in a paint ready white gel coat that looks clean enough to run raw if you are too excited to wait for the body shop.

Beyond the fenders, they offer side skirts that fit all E36 body styles, a front lip for M3 bumpers, their FAUXMEX front bumper, and their 01 Type rear bumper cover that works across coupe, sedan, and convertible. Every part is designed to work together as a cohesive kit, but you can also mix and match depending on your build.

Lead times run around 8 to 12 weeks depending on demand. That is the trade off when you are buying from a small operation that actually makes things to order instead of pulling from a warehouse full of generic inventory.

We started paying attention to Autohandler because their vision lines up with ours. Small brand. Big attention to detail. Built by people who actually drive the cars they make parts for. That is the kind of company we want to support and the kind of products we want to put in front of you.

If you are building an E36 and want aero that comes from people who actually get it, Autohandler is worth your time.
